Camp Fangamer: New Videos & Recap

CampFangamer

Camp Fangamer 2015 has ended!  What an amazing experience… I can hardly put it into words how incredibly cool it was to hang with so many EarthBound fans for two days straight.  Hopefully you got to either attend or watch the Twitch stream – there was some insanity that went down that simply has to be witnessed.

It would be too difficult to summarize all the cool stuff that went on at this convention, so instead, we’ll just focus on what happened with Ridgway Films at Camp Fangamer:

  • We premiered two shorts at the EB Film Fest!  One, The Fans Film Earthbound, was a ten-minute re-edit of our longer film, From the Fans with Love, which re-imagines our fan comment submission experiment as though a live chat were constantly interrupting the flow of the video.  People seemed to like it!  Our second BRAND-NEW short, Lost and ‘Bound, is an original story about a man who seeks to reclaim the EarthBound cartridge and box that was stolen from him years ago.  Lost and ‘Bound went on to win one of three “best film” awards, but all the films shown at the festival were amazing and deserve a watch – check out the recorded stream of the whole festival here!
  • We created two public service announcements to support the various subsidiary companies behind PKORP!  One for Eagleland Waterworksand one for P. Moldyman Trash!
  • Anton and I got to guest-host a segment on the EarthBound Baaaash!!  Check out the stream from the first day here – the segment features myself tripping and running into a door frame, Anton talking about why EarthBound is a great game while simultaneously playing it, and everything finally culminating in the deepest coffee break speech you may ever experience.
  • After-party movie-making happened, which was a super-fun, super-chill experience.  Everyone who participated did an amazing job – expect the final film to appear online shortly!
  • And finally, various clips from the convention as it happened appeared on the Kommander Krunchy channel.

Thanks to everyone at Fangamer who made this wacky convention possible.  Until next time!
